Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Deputy Manager / Room Leader to join our dynamic early years team. In this key dual role, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations, support staff development, and lead high-quality practice across the rooms to ensure exceptional care and education for all children.

We offer a high level of flexibility for the right candidate, with options for a full 5-day week or a 4-day working pattern to support work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Support the Nursery Manager in the smooth running of the setting, stepping up to manage daily operations in their absence.
  • Room Leadership: Act as an exemplary practitioner in the room, leading staff to plan and deliver creative, EYFS-aligned learning experiences.
  • Staff Mentorship: Supervise, guide, and support room educators to maintain high standards of practice, safety, and care.
  • Compliance & Safeguarding: Maintain strict adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements across the setting.
  • Parent Partnerships: Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, providing open communication regarding child development and room updates.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Full Level 3 (or above) in Early Years or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a childcare management or leadership role (e.g., Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, Deputy Manager).
  • Strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
