Quint Education places staff in early years settings, primary schools and residential childcare across London. If you want a permanent job, we represent you to the settings we already work with. If you want agency shifts that fit around the rest of your life, we book you in. Either way you deal with a consultant who knows the setting they are sending you to, and your hours go through an online timesheet rather than a paper chase.
This page explains the roles we recruit for, the two routes in, what you will need to provide, and what happens once you are registered.
Looking for a permanent role
We will put your experience in front of the nurseries and schools we work with and prepare you for interview. You are employed by them, not by us.
Looking for agency work
Day-to-day cover, longer bookings and term-time work, chosen around your availability. Useful if you are studying, returning to work, or topping up hours.
Roles we recruit for
| Role | Where you would work | Routes available |

Two ways to work with us
Permanent. You apply for a role, we screen you, and we put you forward to the setting. If you are appointed you are employed by the nursery or school directly and never work through the agency. If a role is not right, or you are not appointed, we talk through the feedback and keep matching you against what comes in.
Temporary and agency. You send a CV or register online, we screen you, verify your documents, and then offer you bookings that match your availability and the areas you can travel to. You can take as much or as little as you want.
The full step-by-step for both routes is on our registration procedure page.
How registration works
- Apply or send your CV. Through a vacancy, the online registration form, or by contacting the team.
- Screening call. A consultant talks through your work history, qualifications, availability and what you are looking for.
- Documents. You complete the online forms and provide proof of identity, your qualifications and anything else required.
- Checks and compliance. Once your checks are verified you can be put forward for roles or offered bookings.
What you will need to provide
Early years settings and schools are legally required to confirm who is working with their children before that person starts, so these are not agency formalities you can skip:
- Photographic proof of identity and your right to work in the UK
- Original certificates for any childcare, early years or teaching qualifications
- References covering your recent work, including any work with children
- An enhanced DBS check appropriate to the setting
If you are new to the sector, it is worth understanding the two frameworks that shape what settings expect of you: the EYFS, which governs practice with under-fives, and Keeping Children Safe in Education, which governs safeguarding in schools. Our approach to vetting is set out under compliance and safer recruitment.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a qualification to work in a nursery?
Not always. Room leader and practitioner roles usually need a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years. Nursery assistant and support roles are open to people without a formal childcare qualification, and are a common way into the sector.
Do you offer permanent jobs or only agency work?
Both. We place staff permanently, where you are employed directly by the nursery or school and never work through the agency, and we also cover day-to-day and longer-term agency bookings. Tell your consultant which you want and they will work to that.
Does it cost anything to register?
No. By law an employment agency cannot charge a work-seeker a fee for finding them work, and we do not. Registration, screening and placement are free to you.
How quickly can I start working?
That depends on how fast your checks clear rather than on us. Once your identity, qualifications, references and safeguarding checks are verified you can be offered bookings. Having your documents ready when you register is the single biggest thing that speeds it up.
Which parts of London do you cover?
We work across London and into Essex from our base in Barnet, with particular activity in Hillingdon, Hounslow and Enfield. If you are not sure whether your area is covered, ask us.
How do I submit my timesheet?
Timesheets are submitted online rather than on paper, through your account or the Quint Education app, and your setting approves them from there.
