Quint Education Ltd operates a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business, and to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. This policy also serves as our modern slavery and human trafficking statement.
Scope
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants and third-party representatives.
Our commitment
As an education recruitment specialist, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that the staff we provide to schools and nurseries are protected from exploitation. We commit to:
- Transparency. Ensuring our own business practices are clear and compliant with UK employment law.
- Due diligence. Implementing systems to identify and assess potential risk areas in our recruitment processes and supply chains.
- Protection. Protecting whistleblowers and victims of modern slavery.
Due diligence in our recruitment process
To prevent modern slavery within our recruitment operations, Quint Education carries out the following checks on every candidate we place:
- Right to work checks. We conduct robust right to work checks on all candidates to ensure they are not being forced to work against their will.
- Bank account verification. We ensure that all staff have their wages paid into a bank account in their own name, to prevent financial exploitation.
- Identification checks. We verify the identity of every candidate using original documentation before they are placed into any assignment.
- Training. We provide our internal recruitment consultants with training to recognise the signs of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Supplier adherence
We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners. Our agreements include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, and we expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same standards.
Identifying the signs of modern slavery
Our staff, and the schools and nurseries we work with, are encouraged to remain vigilant. Indicators of modern slavery may include:
- Workers who do not have access to their own passport or identity documents.
- Individuals who appear to be under the control of others, or who are picked up and dropped off by the same vehicle each day.
- Workers showing signs of physical or psychological abuse.
- Multiple workers listing the same home address.
Reporting a concern
If any employee, candidate or client believes that a person is at risk of modern slavery, they must report it immediately to a Director of Quint Education on 020 7118 8994 or by email to info@quinteducation.co.uk.
Concerns can also be reported directly to:
- The Modern Slavery Helpline – 08000 121 700
- Emergency services – 999, if someone is in immediate danger.
