Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Nursery Room Leader to join our childcare team in Maida Vale, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment where young children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Provide professional and relevant feedback to parents/carers about their child
  • Ensure all records of development and learning are fully and accurately maintained by the appropriate staff
  • Ensure appropriate planning is in place to maintain the required standards consulting with the Senior Nursery Nurse when necessary
  • Provide leadership and support to playroom staff to enable them to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Be responsible for taking part in all self-development activities such as appraisals
  • In conjunction with the senior management team identify and address individual training needs of playroom staff
  • Develop open and positive working relationships with staff

Person Specification

  • Qualification: Level 3 qualification in Childcare or above (Early Years Degree, QTS, PGCE, or NNEB).
  • Knowledge: Strong EYFS knowledge with the ability to implement it across all activities.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a room leader for the past 2 years in a nursery or early childhood setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proven leadership skills and strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Compliance: Deep understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
