Position: Deputy Nursery Manager
Hours: Full Time (40 hours across 5 days)
Location: North London (N22)
Salary: £37,000 – £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a high-performing childcare setting. Working alongside the Nursery Manager and Leadership Team, you will help lead, inspire, and support a talented team to deliver outstanding care and early years education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and support staff members to maintain high standards of early years care, learning, and EYFS curriculum delivery.
- Act as a lead Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring robust safeguarding and child protection practices are embedded across the nursery.
- Oversee day-to-day nursery operations, staff deployment, health & safety compliance, and room preparation.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, external professionals, and the local authority.
- Support nursery occupancy growth, budget management, and continuous quality assurance.
Essential Requirements:
Qualifications: Full & relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
Certifications: Up-to-date 12-hour Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training.
Experience: Proven experience in a senior or supervisory role within an early years setting, with a strong track record of successful regulatory inspection outcomes (Good/Outstanding).
Skills: Strong leadership, excellent written/verbal communication, and clear decision-making skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Studies or post-graduate status (EYPP / EYTT / QTS).
Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
Experience managing budgets, staff rostering, and coaching teams.
