SALARY: £14.00 – £15.50 per hour (£26,208 – £29,016 per annum)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and "hands-on" Nursery Deputy Manager to join a unique setting in Bounds Green. This nursery is part of an established group of three across North London and Hertfordshire, dedicated to the harmony of Montessori principles and Forest School outdoor learning.
The setting focuses on kindness, nature, and sustainability—evident in their beautiful handmade wooden resources and nutritious, vegetarian menu.

- Age Group: Dedicated to children aged 2 to 5 years (facilitating a smooth transition from their nearby "under 2s" sister site).

We are looking for a leader who will:

Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Leadership: Collaborate with the Manager to design and monitor a high-quality EYFS curriculum, supported by the setting owners.
- Educational Excellence: Ensure staff are effectively deployed to provide optimal stimulation and support, including "hands-on" care and comforting of children.
- Ofsted Readiness: Maintain an action plan to ensure the setting consistently achieves a "Good" or "Outstanding" rating.
- Performance Management: Support the owners with staff inductions, probations, supervisions, and appraisals.
- Operational Care: Supervise daily routines, including physical care and mobility support, ensuring a seamless experience for all children.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum Requirement: Level 3 or 4 qualification in Childcare.
- Desired: Montessori Diploma, Level 5+ in Early Years, or a relevant Degree.
- Experience: At least 2 years of current experience in a Deputy Manager role.
- Forest School Knowledge: A solid understanding of outdoor learning activities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for parent liaison and accurate record-keeping.
- Compliance: Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, Safeguarding, and Equal Opportunities.

THE ROLE & BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Plan and launch your new nursery
- Ensure compliance whilst adding value to children, parents and team
- Manage and coach a large team
- Deliver on the job training, guidance and support to the team
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with parents
- Be responsible for all planning and logistics, running the nursery routine, managing sufficient ratios and rotas
- Risk assess the nursery through the day, every day, and actioning; maintaining and critically assessing all policies, procedures and practice to drive improvements

- Hold a Montessori diploma

- Knowledge of Record Keeping and Key Worker Systems
- A rigorous understanding of the EYFS and the ability to fully implement all of it requirements
- A clear understanding of Ofsted’s requirements and current legislation
- Adaptable - able to work hands on and in an office setting
