What you'll be doing

We are seeking a passionate Playworker to join our vibrant Breakfast and Afterschool Club team in Streatham (SW16). This exciting opportunity will begin in late June or July, so apply now and be ready to join us for the new term!
As a Playworker, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe and stimulating space where children can learn, explore, and make friends.
Your Responsibilities:
- Play & Engagement:
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment (Breakfast Club: 7:30am-9:00am & Afterschool Club: 3:00pm-6:00pm).
- Develop and deliver fun and age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
- Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding regulations and best practices.
- Support children's social and emotional development through play.
- Communication & Teamwork:
- Build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the club.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with parents, guardians, and other staff members.
- Preparation & Support:
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up the play area.
- May assist with preparing healthy snacks (depending on the role).
- Be open to learning and development opportunities in childcare.
Qualifications:
- A relevant childcare qualification (Level 2 or above) is preferred, but not essential.
- Experience working with children in a childcare setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- A passion for play and a desire to create a positive learning environment.
