Nursery Chef – St Johns Woods

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Nursery Chef, for a nursery based in St Johns Wood.

Information:

• Location: St Johns Wood

• Salary:  £14 to £15 an hour

• Contract: Monday to Friday – 9am to 4pm

• Start Date: On completion of recruitment process

Your duties as a Nursery Chef:

• To prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals daily for the children

• To monitor and review menus, suggesting changes as necessary

• To ensure all children’s dietary requirements are catered for in line with parental and medical guidance

• To supervise lunchtimes, encouraging children to try a variety of foods

• To ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy

• To ensure all food and hygiene regulations are adhered to

• To order catering supplies and cleaning materials as and when required necessary for the fulfilment of the role, ensuring use is monitored to reduce any unnecessary costs

• To purchase general items as and when required by the nursery

• To maintain and record appropriate records, including stock records and adhering to budgetary requirements

• To ensure all kitchen equipment is sterilised

• To be familiar with and adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures at all times

• To be responsible for Health and Safety

• To communicate with parents, staff and visitors in a friendly and effective manner

Applicant requirements:

• A minimum of 1-2 years UK experience

• NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene

• Eligible to work in the UK

• Full enhanced DBS

• Ability to manage Kitchen and support staff

• Travelling distance to post code area

• Flexible to be on rota

• Dedicated and committed
