Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily running of the nursery provision.
- Manage a staff team of between 8-15 staff.
- Recruit for staff vacancies as needed.
- Monitor fees and invoicing for parents.
- Complete show arounds for prospective parents and convert these into registrations.
- Liaise with existing parents to know nursery strengths and areas for focus.
- Lead the nursery successfully through Ofsted inspections.
- Liaise with external professionals who support children or the nursery.
- Ensure the nursery curriculum is embedded in staff practice and staff are confident to know how they are supporting children to develop.

The School
The school is located on the grounds of a nature reserve in Lavender park and so benefits from a unique asset on its grounds: a nature reserve for forest school and outdoor learning. And the building itself is substantial - 11,000 square feet - so could easily exceed 100 FTE places should the school hit target. Given the size of the building, we’ve had to erect a modular play space internally until the school reaches size for us to build out into the surrounding environment, which we hope to in the near future.
Operations
The school currently delivers care for 48 FTE children (places for 24 pre-schoolers and 24 babies under 2) between 07:30 and 18:30, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year. We currently slate 3 days / year for inset training and are closed from the 23rd December through to the New Year.

Finance and premises
- To effectively manage the nursery budgets and spending especially as new rooms are opening up Responsibility for the day to day management of the premises and services, liaising with the managing director to ensure essential repairs and maintenance of the building are carried out within budgetary limits
- Responsible for ensuring correct fees are being sent to clients
- To manage the staff payroll and payments including the payleave/holidays/…
- To lead government subvention scheme provision for pre-schoolers (where applicable).
Marketing
- To take care of the marketing of the nursery and work towards filling the nursery and reaching full occupancy. This includes engagement with external stakeholders, active marketing and relevant actions to promote the nursery
- Organise open days and external events as required
- be fully responsive to new parents requests and answering within 12h and no later than 24h
Data
- Ensures safe storage and appropriate access for all information, to guarantee compliance with data protection legislation.
- Maintain all records as required by OFSTED

Responsibilities and Duties
• Teaching children and working to develop them to their full potential, using your knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.

Qualifications and Skills
• NVQ 3, NNEB, Cache Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Minimum experience of working as a Room Leader for 6 months to a year is essential.
• Previous experience of working in a Montessori setting is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• An extensive knowledge of the current EYFS and Ofsted standards and procedures.
• Passion to deliver high quality childcare and exciting learning opportunities.
