Location: Hendon, North West London

Pay: £85-£100 per day (PAYE, no umbrella company)

Start Date: February 2024 (after half term) – Long-term cover with potential renewal

About the Role:

Join a vibrant primary school near Hendon and make a meaningful difference in the life of a Year 2 child with autism. This rewarding 1-1 SEN TA position offers long-term stability until the end of the academic year, with the chance to continue your impact in September 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1-1 support throughout the school day, both in the classroom and beyond.
  • Tailor individual instruction and support based on the child’s IEP (Individualised Education Program).
  • Foster social interactions and communication skills development, nurturing a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with academic tasks and projects, creatively adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the child’s IEP is effectively implemented.

Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience supporting children with ASD is essential.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.

Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to cater to individual learning styles and needs.

Patience, empathy, and resilience to navigate challenging behaviours and provide consistent support.

Valid DBS check registered with the online update service or willingness to apply.

Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 6 months.
