Nursery Manager Job – Forest Hill, London (SE23)

Are you a passionate and experienced leader looking to manage a thriving nursery in Southeast London?
We are excited to be working with a fantastic 60-place nursery in Forest Hill (SE23) seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Manager to join their team.
About the Role:
- Lead and supervise a team of 10 staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum and activities for the children.
- Ensure the nursery adheres to all licensing regulations and health & safety standards.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed and happy.
- Maintain open communication, discussing both progress and concerns regarding each child.
- Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections, ensuring all systems and processes are in place, and staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff.
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and maintaining supply inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments to guarantee a cohesive approach to childcare services.
- Address any disciplinary issues or conflicts that may arise.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is a must.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) with fluency in English.
- Proven leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of nursery operations and best practices.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a demanding environment.
- A passion for early years education and child development.

Person Specification:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven track record in Nursery Management with strong leadership skills.
- Experience managing a nursery with at least 60 places and a minimum Ofsted “Good” rating.
- At least two years of recent experience in a similar setting.
Living within a 30-minute commute is preferred, but not mandatory.
