1-to-1 SEN Early Years Practitioner
Location: Hampstead (NW3)
Hours: 15 hours per week (3 mornings: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Shift Pattern: Monday, Friday, plus Tuesday OR Wednesday
Role Type: Part-time
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role
A beautiful Nursery based in Hampstead is looking for a warm, attentive, and experienced 1-to-1 SEN early years Practitioner to support a young child with Special Educational Needs.
In this role, you will work 3 mornings a week providing tailored 1-to-1 care, helping the child engage in play and learning, and ensuring her individual needs are met in a safe and happy nursery environment.
Key Responsibilities SEN Early years practitioner:
- Provide high-quality 1-to-1 care and support for a child with Special Educational Needs during morning sessions.
- Adapt nursery activities, routines, and sensory play to support the child’s individual development.
- Assist with personal care, physical support, and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate closely with room staff, nursery management, and parents to track progress.
- Create a calm, encouraging, and supportive atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Experience: Essential hands-on experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an early years setting.
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare preferred (strong relevant experience will also be considered).
- Certifications: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply), plus valid Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.
- Personal Attributes: Patient, nurturing, reliable, and proactive.
Working Schedule:
- Total: 15 hours per week (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
- Days: Mondays and Fridays (required), plus either Tuesday or Wednesday
