I had the privilege of witnessing a precious moment at KT18 Epsom. One Friday afternoon, my students and I were watching Bob, The Builder, a favorite cartoon among the children.
While some of the students were dozing off, Harry seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the show.
His smiles were brighter, and he even sang along with the theme song.
During the second episode, I noticed Harry murmuring something during the theme song. As soon as it ended, Harry screamed, “Mama!” I was overjoyed and knelt in front of him to confirm what he had said. Harry repeated the word and smiled. I shared the exciting news with Harry’s mom after class, and she was delighted to hear it.
Moments like these remind me of the importance of sensory play in a child’s development. Cartoons and other forms of sensory play can help stimulate vital senses, aiding in a child’s growth and development. This is definitely a precious moment at KT18 classroom.
